The Housemaid’s Wedding is one of those stories that is probably best read between The Housemaid’s Secret and The Housemaid Is Watching. Ironically, I intentionally saved it until after the third book because I had really enjoyed seeing the more domestic side of Millie and Enzo’s relationship in The Housemaid Is Watching and wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to them.
That ended up being the biggest reason I enjoyed this novella.
If I am judging it strictly by what it contributes to the overall series, I honestly do not think it needed to exist. It does not reveal any major secrets, dramatically develop the characters, or change the trajectory of the story in any meaningful way. If you skipped it entirely, you would not miss anything essential before moving on to the next novel.
That said, I still had a nice time reading it.
Millie and Enzo have become two of my favorite thriller characters, and there is something comforting about getting to spend a little more time with them. The novella leans more into their relationship than the psychological suspense, giving readers a chance to see them preparing for their wedding while, naturally, chaos finds Millie yet again.
The mystery itself is fairly predictable and much smaller in scale than the novels. I never felt particularly surprised by anything that happened, and the stakes never reached the level I have come to expect from the main series. It felt more like a bonus episode of a favorite TV show than an essential installment.

The wedding-day mystery is entertaining enough, but it never feels like it carries real weight. I kept waiting for a bigger reveal or some connection that would reshape how I viewed Millie and Enzo’s story, but it never came.
Instead, the novella serves as a quiet bridge between books. We get to see Millie and Enzo officially begin their married life, and for readers who are attached to these characters, that alone may be worth the short read.
Overall, I gave The Housemaid’s Wedding 3 out of 5 stars. It is enjoyable if you already love Millie and Enzo and simply want another hour or two in their world. Just do not go into it expecting a major thriller or an important addition to the series. Think of it as a bonus chapter rather than a necessary one, and I think you’ll enjoy it much more.
